Rachel became publisher of The Independent in 2017, bringing
fresh vision to a publication with deep roots in the community. A
graduate of The University of Kansas with a degree in classical
antiquities, Rachel is committed to preserving and celebrating
the magazine’s rich legacy in Kansas City. A passionate reader,
Rachel shares her latest literary finds in her column, Rachel’s
Reads. She and her husband, Jake, love exploring the city’s
vibrant arts scene and can often be spotted strolling about town
with their dog, Einstein.
