Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Edward Bear of Chesterfield, Missouri, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Marie Bear, to Adam Joseph Brown, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Edward Brown of Overland Park. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Gene William Farthing of Springfield, Missouri, and the late Dr. Farthing and the late Dr. and Mrs. David Eli Bear. Kat is a graduate of Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis, Missouri. She earned a bachelor of journalism degree from the University of Missouri. Kat is a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, and is careering with Ogilvy & Mather in New York, New York.

Her groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Bob Frank Larmer of Wichita, Kansas, and the late Mr. Larmer and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Edward Brown. Adam is a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree in political science from The University of Kansas. Adam was a Jewel Ball escort in 2007. He is a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and is employed with the Ace Group in New York, New York. Theirs will be a September 13th wedding at the Graham Chapel in St. Louis, Missouri.
