Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dowling McLiney of Our Town are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Lux McLiney, to John Delbert “J.D.” Selby, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Alan Selby of Akron, Ohio. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mary Ann Schwantes of Roseville, Minnesota, the late Mr. John Lux and Mr. and Mrs. George McLiney of Our Town. Libby is a graduate of St. Teresa’s Academy. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in communication studies from The University of Kansas and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Libby is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, and is a BOTAR, class of 2004. She is careering with the St. Louis Catholic School in Austin, Texas. 

Her groom-elect is the grandson of the late Della Chapman, the late Mr. Delbert McElhaney and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Selby. J.D. is a graduate of Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in engineering psychology from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. J.D. is employed with SunPower in Austin, Texas. Theirs will be a November 1st wedding at Visitation Church.
