Family Tradition – Rachel Watts
Dr. Solon E. Haynes, great uncle; Rachel Watts
Rachel Watts, a 2012 graduate from The University of Kansas School of Education, is following in her family footsteps to obtain her doctorate degree in education. She is photographed with her great uncle, Dr. Solon E. Haynes, who received his doctorate degree in education from The University of Kansas in 1968. Rachel holds a bell that her great grandmother, Alberta Haynes, used to summon her students into their one room school house in rural Missouri in the 1920′s. The family tradition also includes two of Dr. Haynes’ children who have their doctorate degrees in education. Rachel is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Douglas Watts and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Dale Watts.
