Mr. and Mrs. Michael David Mercier of Denver, Colorado, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Augusta Mercier, to Austin Rance Johnston, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Allan Johnston of Leawood. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joseph Bollwerk of Rapid City, South Dakota, and the late Mr. Bollwerk and Mr. William Mercier of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and the late Mrs. Mercier. Katherine is a graduate of the Family Academy of Christian Education in Denver, Colorado. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in anthropology from the University of Denver and a master’s degree in museum studies from the University of Leicester. Katherine is careering with The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures. 

Her groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Rance Hoehns of Smithton, Missouri, and the late Mr. Hoehns and Mrs. Arlie Johnston of Almont, Colorado, and the late Mr. Johnston. Austin is a graduate of Blue Valley North High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy and history from Trinity Univeristy and a juris doctor from the University of Texas School of Law. Austin was a BOTAR escort in 2014. He is employed with the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office in Harrisonville, Missouri. Theirs will be a November 5th wedding at Country Club Congregational United Church of Christ.
