2018 Tie The Knot Bridal Issue

In honor of the 2018 Tie The Knot Bridal Issue, The Independent and TIVOL united to host a cocktail party at TIVOL Hawthorne Plaza on June 21st. For the occasion, the store was festooned with beautiful floral arrangements by Craig Sole. Champagne was the beverage of choice. The appetizers from Lon Lane’s Inspired Occasions included blini with caviar and crème fraîche, mini cold water lobster cakes, avocado toast with lump crab and heirloom grape tomatoes, sugar and spice shrimp, and grilled tenderloin of beef on mini Yorkshire puddings. The vegetarian option – also a favorite of carnivores and omnivores – was heart-shaped toast with sun-dried tomato pesto and herbed Montrachet cheese. Vegans (and everyone else) could delight in grilled and marinated artichoke hearts topped with roasted red pepper hummus. Dolce Bakery created a heavenly lemon cake, and Adorn Bakery made several palate-pleasing desserts. Barbara Ross, Annie Frisbie and Tori Fugate were on hand from KC Pet Project, which was the beneficiary of a raffle for a TIVOL freshwater cultured pearl necklace and earring set. The winner was Jodde Lanning, who has done so much for animals in Our Town. For those who are altar-bound, the event was a perfect opportunity to peruse the dazzling engagement rings and wedding bands.
