Kansas City Ballet Guild – The Emerald City Ball

The Emerald City Ball was held on October 6th at the InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza. The event, hosted by the Kansas City Ballet Guild, was a celebration of Kansas City Ballet’s world premiere of Septime Webre’s The Wizard of Oz. Carol and W. Anthony Feiock were the honorary chairmen, and Gigi Rose served as the chairman. The festivities featured a runway show featuring the fashions of Oz, narrated by Liz Vandal, costume designer; in addition to cocktails, dinner and the music of the Michael Beers Band. Frank Byrne, Kansas City Symphony; received the Pirouette Award for his outstanding contribution to the performing arts. The award was presented by Susan Meehan-Mizer, Guild president, and Jeffrey J. Bentley, Kansas City Ballet.
