Jewish Family Services – 120 Years
A truly historic birthday of 120 years was celebrated in style recently honoring the Jewish Family Services agency. More than 650 guests gathered at the Overland Park Marriott and enjoyed cocktails, dinner, a live auction, and entertainment by the Jewbie Brothers. Co-chairs for the memorable event were Brenda Althouse and Paul Fingersh and Amy and Peter Shapiro. Don Goldman, JFS executive director and chief executive officer, was honored with the Dr. Phyliss and Robert A. Bernstein Humanitarian Award, as he is retiring after 16 years of serving the agency. Sandi Fried, volunteer extraordinaire, was given the Alfred Benjamin Friend of the Family Award.
