Dr. Willie Edward Lawrence, Jr. and Sandra Airené Jones Lawrence of Leawood, Kansas, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, MacKenzie Lillian Lawrence, to Pieter Jan Zenner, the son of Mr. Marc Zenner and Shihchien Tang of Miami, Florida. MacKenzie is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Lewis Jones and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Edward Lawrence, Sr. She attended the Pembroke Hill School and is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire. MacKenzie earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics with a citation in Chinese from Harvard College, where she was a member of The Bee Final Club, and a master of business administration degree from the Harvard Business School. She was presented at The Jewel Ball in 2015. MacKenzie is an investment banker with The Raine Group.
Pieter is the grandson of Chen, Xiulan of Taipei, Taiwan, and the late Mr. Tang, Xuhua; and Jacqueline Vermeersch of Groot-Bijgaarden, Belgium, and the late Mr. Roger Zenner. He is a graduate of Greenwich High School in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Pieter earned a bachelor of arts degree in applied mathematics from Harvard College, where he was a member of The Delphic Final Club. He is self employed as a tutor and financial analyst. Theirs will be a June 5, 2027 wedding at Chateau Bayard in Éghezeé, Wallonia, Belgium.
