Congratulations, Captain & Mrs. David Thomas Collins!
Monica Leigh Porter and Captain David Thomas Collins were married on August 31st at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. The bride is the daughter of Drs. Charles and Susan Porter of Our Town. Monica is the granddaughter of Dr. Donald R. Smith and the late Mrs. Smith and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Porter. Her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Collins of Vero Beach, Florida. He is the grandson of Mrs. Raymond Fleigh of Raleigh, North Carolina, and the late Colonel Fleigh and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Collins.
On the evening prior, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Collins hosted a rehearsal dinner at Lidia’s Kansas City. Following the ceremony, Drs. Charles and Susan Porter hosted a lovely reception at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Annalise Ghiz served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Katharine Collins and Natalie Collins, sisters of the groom; Kelly Carden, Stephanie Hense, Stephanie Harrison, and Pavi Francis. Drew Bottalico served as the best man. The groomsmen were Troy Porter, brother of the bride; Matt Mosshart, Josh Jones, Ryan Smith, Eric Taylor, Patrick Swanson, and Captain Chris Day. Captain Lyle Milliman, Captain Jaime Sanjuan, Captain James Larson, Captain Phil Hokenson, Captain Ryan Keogh, Captain Alain Chuntraruk, Captain Christopher Day, and First Lieutenant Robert Sherry served as saber bearers. David is serving with the United States Army. He is currently deployed with the 4th Infantry Division in Kuwait and will return home in July of 2014. Monica is careering with The Beck Group in Denver, Colorado.
