Emilie Marie Sutherland and Charles Turner Spalding were married on August 1st at the Alila Villas Uluwatu in Bali, Indonesia. The bride is the daughter of Martha Sidney Sutherland of Accomac, Virginia, and Mr. Mark Dwight Cheng of Bethesda, Maryland. Emilie is the step-daughter of Mr. Barnaby Conrad III and Mary Jane Skapek Cheng. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Dwight D. Sutherland, Sr., of Fairway and the late Mr. Sutherland and Dr. and Mrs. T. O. Cheng of Bethesda. Her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Spalding of San Francisco, California. Charles is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis A. Martin, Jr., the late Elizabeth Coxe Spalding and the late Mr. Charles F. Spalding. The happy couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Bali, and are at home in Hong Kong. Emilie is careering with Getty’s Group and Charles is employed with the David Zwirner Gallery.
