Claire Schaefer Kramer and John Peter Cunningham will meet at the altar of the Church of the Ascension in Overland Park, Kansas, for a June wedding. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Edward Kramer of Overland Park, Kansas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. James Lawrence Schaefer of Jefferson City, Missouri, and the late Mr. Schaefer, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence John Kramer of Leawood, Kansas. Claire graduated from Notre Dame de Sion High School and the University of Notre Dame, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in American studies. 

Her groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Richard Cunningham of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He is the grandson of Mrs. George Harry Coin of Bettendorf, Iowa, and the late Mr. Coin, and Mrs. Lawrence Henry Cunningham of Naples, Florida, and the late Mr. Cunningham. John graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, and the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history, in addition to a master’s degree in education. Both Claire and John are employed with the University of Notre Dame.
