Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Newman, Jr. of Leawood are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Lenore Newman, to Jonathan Carl Rutkowski, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rutkowski of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Kate is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Keller and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Newman, Sr. She is a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Kate earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from The University of Kansas. She is a member of Chi Omega sorority and careers with Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 

Her groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shinovich and the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Rutkowski. Jon graduated from Cedarburg High School in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. He earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Jon is employed with Secret Garden in Mequon, Wisconsin. Theirs will be an August 12th wedding at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
