Congratulations, Katherine & Nick!

Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Randall Sweeney of Our Town are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Margaret Fitzgerald Sweeney, to Nicholas Alexander Gard, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Franklin Gard of Our Town. Katherine is also the daughter of the late Margaret Lynn Fitzgerald Sweeney. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sweeney of Carrollton, Missouri, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Fitzgerald. Katherine is a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. She earned a bachelor of science degree in horticulture landscape design from Kansas State University and a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from Emporia State University. Katherine is a BOTAR, class of 2013, and is a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority.  

Her groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. James Russell Gard of Overland Park and the late Mr. Gard and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Joseph Loftus. Nick is a graduate of Rockhurst High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Missouri. Nick was a BOTAR escort in 2014 and is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He is employed with Commerce Bank. Theirs will be a July 16th wedding at Visitation Church.
