Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Bernabe, Jr.!
Stacy Ann Porto and Lawrence Douglas Bernabe, Jr., were married on November 9th at St. Francis Xavier Church. The bride is the daughter of Mary Porto of Leawood, and the late Dr. Anthony F. Porto, Jr. Her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Douglas Bernabe, Sr., of Chesterfield, Missouri. The wedding weekend kicked off with a welcome barbecue in Downtown Kansas City. The evening prior, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Grand Street Cafe. Following the ceremony, Mary Porto hosted a reception at Indian Hills Country Club, where the St. James United Methodist Gospel Choir sang hymns as the couple made their entrance, and Mayor Sly James welcomed guests with a blessing. Maggie Cushman served as the maid of honor. Jenny Porto, sister-in-law of the bride; Mallory Nemmers, cousin of the bride; and Adria Tichacek, sister of the groom; were bridesmaids. Tom Andrews served as the best man. Tony Porto III, Nick Porto and Tom Porto, brothers of the bride; Ryan McLaughlin and Doug Valenti were groomsmen. The happy couple enjoyed a honeymoon to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and are at home in Our Town. Stacy is careering as a real estate agent with Reece & Nichols and as a lawyer with her own practice, and Lawrence is employed by the MacFarlane Group.
