Harriman-Jewell Series’ Joshua Bell and Alessio Bax, violinist and pianist in recital
October 2 @ 7:00 pm
No matter if he’s playing at Carnegie Hall or busking incognito at a busy subway station, Joshua Bell has an extraordinary connection with people through music. A musical giant of our time, Joshua Bell will play a seventh recital for the Harriman-Jewell Series. The violinist’s stunning virtuosity, beautiful tone, and charismatic stage presence have brought him universal acclaim. Alessio Bax is a pianist of authority, elegance, and intensity, praised for his lyrical performances and compelling, insightful interpretations. Bax is a First Prize winner at the Leeds International Piano Competition, the recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant, and Lincoln Center’s Martin E. Segal Award. Bax has appeared as soloist with more than 100 orchestras and played in recital with Joshua Bell for the Series in 2017 and a solo Series Discovery Concert in 2010.
