May 10th was the date for Wayside Waifs annual Fur Ball Gala at the Overland Park Convention Center. The score card of fun included an all-star “tail”gate, dinner, silent and live auctions, and adorable puppies and kittens. More than 1,000 guests attended the sold-out baseball themed event, “Our Waifs Are in a League of Their Own.” Proceeds from the event benefit Our Town’s largest and most comprehensive no-kill pet adoption campus to save the lives of abandoned, abused and homeless animals.
