J.L. and D. Rod: Storytellers With Heart
Jose “J.L.” Leon, Jr., and Daniel “D. Rod” Rodriguez started the Enterrupt KC podcast because they want “community, not controversy.” These two gentlemen (and gentle men) who also happen to be nephew and uncle, decided to start telling Kansas City’s stories – at junctions in their own lives that really didn’t require anything else to be placed on their proverbial plates. J.L. works in a government position as a director, and D. Rod drives short haul after a long career on the railroad.
They are each married, have children, lead lives full of family commitments, and yet… they couldn’t resist the urge to tell the real stories of real people in the community, or as they say, “People, Places, and Things of KC.” They are self-professed talkers, not journalists, and they are interested in letting individuals have a podcast platform where they can speak their truth without being challenged or judged.
