The Jewish Community Relations Bureau|American Jewish Committee (JCRB|AJC) hosted Driving Out Darkness in the Heartland: 2024 Regional Summit on Combating Antisemitism at Rockhurst University in April. More than 700 people attended the daylong summit, which featured local, regional, and national speakers on antisemitism and breakout sessions. Nearly 30 speakers participated in the summit, including United States Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and Ted Deutch, American Jewish Committee; who were the keynote speakers. The evening prior, a Unity Seder was held at Kehilath Israel Synagogue, bringing together community and interfaith partners.
