Since 2005, Mid-America Arts Alliance has made its home at 20th and Baltimore Avenue, so on June 6th, the organization commemorated its 20th anniversary in the Kansas City Crossroads! This United States Regional Arts Organization serves the heartland from Nebraska to Texas. The celebration included a private reception featuring the exhibit, Through Darkness to Light: Photographs Along the Underground Railway, by Jeanine Michna-Bales. During the reception, guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and remarks about the organization’s growth and impact from Todd Stein and Kathy Dowell, both with Mid-America Arts Alliance. Photographer Jeanine Michna-Bales spoke about her work and signed books for the guests.
