Third Pine Collective is a grassroots organization founded by Xiao Faria da Cunha and Chaneryna Thach. They aim to represent Asian American artists in Kansas City through a member and volunteer-based effort. It operates through mutual aid, sharing labor and resources to eliminate vendor fees for members. Assistance is available to all members when they request it. If a member has car trouble and needs a ride, someone from the Collective will be there to help. The organization hosts exhibitions, workshops, and other events that emphasize community collaboration and accessibility. Upcoming events include a Summer Solstice-themed exhibit and a Day of the Craft (Chinese Valentine’s Day) vendor market which will be held in July. They plan to have two additional markets a year, including the Lunar New Year and a winter holiday season one. Because they don’t have a storefront, they collaborate with various galleries and retail spaces in Our Town for events. In the second half of 2026, the Collective will begin hosting workshops that focus on artistic career development and business skills. One of their main goals is to assist artists in the early stages of their careers, making sure everyone can gain something. To learn more, visit thirdpinecollective.com.
