JDRF – Walk to Cure Diabetes & 5K

More than 11,000 walkers and runners participated in the JDRF Kansas City Chapter’s 18th annual Walk to Cure Diabetes & 5K on October 6th at the Truman Sports Complex. Mike Kennedy of Q104 and the KCTV-5 morning crew kicked off the day rallying teams before the Walk & 5K. At the finish line, walkers enjoyed treats, live music by The Mikey Needleman Band and fun activities for kids.  Beth and Bobby Totsch served as the chairmen. The Walk & 5K helped raise funds toward prevention, improved treatment and finding a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications.
