Dr. and Mrs. Loren David Berenbom of Prairie Village are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Mayer Berenbom, to James Ronald Berger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Anthony Tebbe, of Chicago, Illinois, and the late Mr. Louis Alan Berger. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tivol of Our Town, the late Mr. Herbert Mayer Krigel and the late Dr. and Mrs. Max Berenbom. Katie is a graduate of the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in communication and completed the honors program in multimedia scholarship from the University of Southern California. Katie was a Jewel Ball debutante in 2005 and is a member of Alpha Phi sorority. She careers with Harpo Studios in Chicago.

Her groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Loewenberg of Chicago and Mrs. Ronald Berger of Chicago and the late Mr. Berger. J.R. is a graduate of the Latin School of Chicago. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in political communications from George Washington University. J.R. is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and is employed with the Magellan Development Group in Chicago. Theirs will be an October 3rd wedding at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago.
