Center for Practical Bioethics – Annual Dinner
The Annual Dinner for the Center for Practical Bioethics was held at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown on April 9th. Julie and Wayne Carter were the honorary chairmen. The 2019 Vision to Action Award was presented to Lisa and Jim Spigarelli. The keynote speaker was Jamie Metzl, author of Hacking Darwin: Genetic Engineering and the Future of Humanity. (He’s a hometown boy – and a Barstow grad!) There were videos on the impact of the Center, as well as a memorial tribute to Dr. Richard Payne, who was the John B. Francis chairman prior to his death in January.
