Defying the Odds: A HALO Art Auction Benefiting Homeless Youth
February 24th was the date – and Hotel Kansas City was the place – for Defying the Odds: A HALO Art Auction. Missy and Bill Love and Rebecca and Trey Bowen were the honorary co-chairs. There were live and silent auctions, which featured a variety of items, including artwork by HALO youth and professional artists. Musical performances were also a highlight of the event. Ziere, a HALO youth who was featured in the organization’s short film, Ziere, received the HALO Star Award from Rebecca Welsh, HALO founder. Among those present was Bob Daum, a recent recipient of the HALO Volunteer of the Month Award. Proceeds will support thousands of youth with housing, healing, and education services.
