The Hurtado Scholars Program is an educational and leadership opportunity offered by Rockhurst High School to prepare middle school boys for success at a college preparatory high school and beyond. The event highlights student success and recognizes a person or group who supports the program. Students are nominated to join the Hurtado Scholars Program by the principals at our partner grade schools in the spring of their fifth grade year.
The organization educates Ignatian leaders, “men for others,” in the Roman Catholic, Jesuit, college-preparatory tradition. In the spirit of Saint Ignatius Loyola, its goal is the formation of the whole person within a diverse and disciplined environment, as one who is open to growth, strives for academic excellence, is religious, loving, and committed to justice.
