Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Conway!
July 8th was the date for an intimate reception celebrating the marriage of Thaylia JoAnn Smith and Patrick Alonzo Conway. The special event was held at Deedee King’s beautiful home in Kirkwood Circle. Hosting the event with Deedee were Laurie and Charles Jarrett, Barbara and Charles Haviland, Patricia Abts and Andrew Fogle, and Daniel P. Baker, all members of the Missouri Repertory Theatre Alumni Group in Our Town. Guests enjoyed a sumptuous buffet paired with red and white sangrias. Dana and Ralph Myers, Pam Eglinski, Risala Allen, Laura Muir, and Gayla Voss toasted the newlyweds, and Maureen and Sanford Salz, who now reside in Arizona, attended the festivities remotely.
The bride wore an ivory gown with a unique floral skirt and a chapel-length train. A statement necklace of blue Swiss topaz and moonstones with matching earrings and bracelet completed her ensemble. Thaylia earned a master’s degree in library science and technology from the University of Missouri. She careers as a design/publications specialist at Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Patrick is a local multi-instrumentalist and composer, who earned a master’s degree in composition from the UMKC Conservatory of Music and is a Charlotte Street Generative Performing Arts fellow.
