Yamina Mechiche of Reims, France, is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Vanessa Lakbachi, to Daniel Steven Howard, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Kent Howard of Prairie Village. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lamri Mechiche. Vanessa is a graduate of Lycée Jean-Jaurés in Reims. She completed a foundation year program in applied economics and accounting at Université Paris Dauphine and earned a bachelor’s degree in banking and international finance summa cum laude from the Cass Business School of the University of London. Vanessa is an investment analyst at La Française Group in New York, New York. 

Her groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Charles Jensen, Jr. of Prairie Village and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Leroy Howard. Dan is a graduate of Rockhurst High School. He was a Jewel Ball escort and member of the floor committee in 2004. Dan received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting magna cum laude from the University of Missouri. He is a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Dan is a vice president with Goldman Sachs in New York. Theirs will be a September 2nd wedding at the St. Regis Hotel in New York.
