The evening will honor exceptional philanthropy throughout Eastern Jackson County, and the 2025 Heartland Award honorees will be recognized: Humanitarian, Michele Shanahan DeMoss; Heartland Service, Metropolitan Community College; and Corporate Service, Cornell Roofing and Sheet Metal. Eight Citizens of the Year will be recognized by the Mayors of Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Raytown, Independence, Oak Grove, Grain Valley, Sugar Creek, and Lake Tapawingo.
