Katherine Marie Tierney and Phillip Joseph Blando were married on May 7th at Visitation Church in Kansas City, Missouri. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Patrick Tierney of Our Town and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thomas Dolan and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Francis Tierney. Her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anthony Blando of Kansas City and Jane Gabhart Blando of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis Michael Gabhart and the late Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Blando, Sr. Ann Tierney Prochow served as the matron of honor, and Jody Dubuque was a bridesmaid. Jon Patrick Blando served as the best man, and Timothy Blando was a groomsman. On the evening prior to the ceremony, the groom hosted a lovely rehearsal dinner at Webster House. Following the wedding, the bride’s parents celebrated the newlyweds with a reception at Carriage Club. Katherine and Phillip enjoyed honeymooning throughout Italy and Turkey before returning home to Washington, DC. Katherine is careering with Merge Healthcare, and Phillip is employed with ABM Partners.
